Climbing has a long tradition in Zillertal and there are plenty of different climbing areas.
The "Ewige Jagdgründe" climbing area in Ginzling is well known. Offering levels of difficulty from 4 to 10 and thanks to the bizarre rock formations, it is one of the most attractive in Europe.
Also to be found here is one of the largest bouldering areas in Zillertal.
Via Ferrata ('iron way') routes offer a safe alternative way of climbing, ascending via a wire rope. The level of difficulty ranges from A (easy) to D (difficult).
Equipment can be hired inexpensively at the foot of Via Ferrata 3.
